My AI journey in 2024
Inaugural post to commemorate the day, and the reason why I am learning about the tech space
Hello World!
First of all, I would like to give a big thank you to you for finding and reading this substack.
A short introduction of myself - I’m a late 20s female from Singapore. My background is pharmacist, and for the past decade I have been trained in health sciences. I have never even once programmed anything in my life before, and the world of tech, software and computing is very alien to me.
Thus, as a personal challenge, I set myself to learn new skills in the tech/AI space in 2024.
I have witnessed how the internet, smartphone apps and social media has taken over the world and over personal lives in the last decade, and how people and companies who are not kept up with the knowledge in using this space see themselves lagging behind severely.
I reckoned that we are seeing the similar trend in the AI space, where AI and tech tools will be a major part of our work and lives. A number of things that we are spending on in life and work follows a logical system, and can be mundane and repetitive at times. This shows potential opportunity to be automated by computer systems in a matter of time.
In addition, I have always been intrigued by this space, and as a logical & systematic person as I am, I feel that i would be able to embrace and understand how to make tech and AI work.
This substack chronicles my journey into the tech space, stepping out of my comfort zone of the sciences into the whole new world of tech, and me trying to figure out and learn the skills of computing. I will be journaling my weekly progress as I venture into the world of tech and AI.
Stay tuned!
